Transfers!

Olá everyone!

It is transfer week again! Transfers work a little differently in this mission. Sunday night we get a call from our District Leader about if we were transferred or not. Then Tuesday morning everyone who is being transferred brings all their stuff (and their companion) to the chapel for "Transfer Meeting." President and Sister Gonzaga talk a little, and then they announce where everyone is going. It is very suspensful. So last night we got the call Sister Araújo will be transferred and I will stay in our area. This is not exactly what I had hoped would happen, but I have faith that the Lord will help me figure everything out!

Things are going really well, and I am understanding more and more! I know that Heavenly Father is blessing me. In the Book of Mormon it says that God will give us understanding "line upon line, precept upon precept." I know that this is true, not only with Portuguese, but with all knowledge. When we act in faith on the things we know, God will give us more. This is how we build our testimonies.

I know God lives and loves us. When we live the commandments, we are blessed. It´s pretty simple :) I hope you all have a great week!

Love,
Sister Lopez

A Week of Miracles

We had a great week here in Maceió! We were able to teach lots of lessons, meet a less-active member who is ready to come back to church, and mark a baptism. The biggest miracle was with Quitéria. We have been teaching her for almost 5 weeks now and were just about to stop because she stopped progressing. (Meaning she wouldn´t come to  church, read the book of mormon, etc.) We went to lunch on Saturday at a member´s house and it turns out she is related to Quitéria and had gone to see her the day before. Quitéria had told her that she was thinking about coming to church with us on Sunday. So Saturday night we stopped by. Not only had Quitéria been reading the Book of Mormon, she promised us she would come to church. And she did! We were so excited and she really enjoyed it. She said she wants to go again next week, and she is coming with us to a ward family night tonight!

Heavenly Father always provides a way for us to accomplish the things He has commanded. I know He hears and answers our prayers.

Thank you for your emails! I´m sorry if I don´t always respond right away, but I love reading them. Have a great week!

Love,
Sister Lopez
