I have some very exciting news. President Chambers called me on the 16th to tell me that my visa has arrived! I will be flying to Brazil next Monday, the 25th of November. I can't believe it. Thank you for all the prayers and fasting on my behalf! I think the Lord doesn't want me to get too comfortable anywhere haha.
We also picked up 3 investigators this week! So I taught nonmembers for the first time :) It was so great. We are teaching these two girls named Kaylee and Stasia. They are 12 and 13, and both of their moms are less-active members. Stasia especially is excited to read the Book of Mormon and come to church with us.
We had dinner with the Johnson family last week and they are our new foster family here. We made some comment about missing our moms and Sister Johnson says, "Excuse me? I am your mom!" And she and her son are making us scarves. They are just the cutest family!
Sister Crandell hit her year mark on Wednesday! So I made a few posters and we had French Toast for breakfast. (Hopefully Heavenly Father will forgive me for skipping workout to make it ;)...) I'm going to be so sad to say goodbye to her. She has been such an awesome trainer :)
I was studying Jacob 5 this week. It says, "21 And it came to pass that the servant said unto his master: How comest thou hither to plant this tree, or this branch of the tree? For behold, it was the poorest spot in all the land of thy vineyard. 22 And the Lord of the vineyard said unto him: Counsel me not; I knew that it was a poor spot of ground; wherefore, I said unto thee, I have nourished it this long time, and thou beholdest that it hath brought forth much fruit."
Sometime we go through hard times. We may feel that the Lord has forgotten us planted in the "poorest spot." But I know that he never leaves us. He continues to nourish us. And when we go through the hard things is when we grow the most in life, and when we bring forth much fruit. I know the Lord lives and loves us. Always remember that He is there for you whenever you need Him. I love you all. Keep me in your prayers :) Have a great week!
Love,
Sister Lopez
