Crazy week! Sister Crandell and I were transferred to West Jordan together. We are opening the area for Sisters. We split the Park Stake with Elder Thompson and Elder MacNamera. And he didn't even know the MacNamera's band song! I had to sing it for him. (Grandpa would be so proud.) This new stake is great though. They have been praying for Sisters for a year. The stake president secured our housing 9 months ago! So no pressure. But we are working hard. We already have some potentials. The only thing that isn't as fun is that we get the Lake Effect (meaning it's freezing!) and we don't have a car anymore. But I bought another pair of tights and a hat!
So a little bit about Sister Crandell. She is this little spit-fire from Texas and she talks just like Niki. Just imagine Niki saying, "Hiiiiiiiiii!!!!" and that's how she talks haha. She is 22 and has been out a year. We laugh all the time and are having fun here on the West Side :)
Something kind of funny that happened this week. We had dinner with a Mom and 2 kids. As soon as he finished his dinner, one of the boys asked for ice cream. She told him he could have it a little later. He started asking her like every two minutes and she kept telling him later. The rest of us finish and start visiting. The Dad comes home from work and eats. Now it's almost time for us to go and the little boy asks again for ice cream. The Mom says, "You can have ice cream as soon as the Sisters leave!" You can bet we shared a very quick thought and got out of there. Haha it was so uncomfortable! Life's rough for us Utah missionaries ;)
You should all listen to Brad Wilcox's talk called "His Grace is Sufficient." It is incredible.
Despite the cold, the walking, and no ice cream, the Church is still true. I know it. I can see the happiness that it brings to people and it makes it worth it.
Sorry this is short; we are limited on time. Thank you for all your emails. I love hearing from you. If you want to write me my address is 8060 S 615 E Sandy, UT 84070.
Have a great week!
Love,
Sister Lopez
